Student Action for Refugees - Glasgow University Union

Student Action for Refugees (STAR) is a national charity that enables students to support refugees in the UK and worldwide, made up of 50 groups at universities and colleges across the UK. Their Glasgow University Union (GUU) group is hosting a film screening of the documentary Soufra, which will be followed by a talk from the brilliant women at Soul Food Sisters, who will also be selling some of their creations on the night.
Soul Food Sisters are an ethical, democratic, not-for-profit social enterprise made up of migrant women. They "bring together women from all over the world, ending social isolation and empowering them to develop their talents- in the kitchen and beyond." For more information on what they do and how to get involved, check out the event and listen/enquire yourself, or visit their website!
The event will be at the GUU Reading Room, starting at 8.15pm and likely finishing around 10pm.
