Cornell Cinema Presents: Human Flow – Stories of Global Migration

This fall, Cornell Cinema presents, "Human Flow-Stories of Global Migration", a semester-long film series, a special opportunity to learn about the people, personalities and circumstances behind the faces we see and headlines we read every day in the news, around the global migration of Humanity. 

The series explores the many reasons individuals decide to migrate, including wars and gang violence, political and religious persecution, climate change resulting in droughts, floods and other natural disasters, and economic hardship.

Ithaca's premier of Soufra will be featured in the series – offering a glimpse into the life of women migrants in the Middle East as it takes the audience into the world of social entrepreneur, Mariam Shaar, and the fellow refugee women behind her thriving food truck. A true story of hope, compassion, and resilience.
